Chill place on the off nights

I love hitting up Flat Top's on the off nights, where it's nice and quiet. The bar's really good, and the food isn't bad (just normal pub food, nothing gourmet here!). The pool tables are nice, and they have some sweet pinball machines that come through. It's a really relaxing way to spend a Sunday.

Pros: pool, cool staff

Cons: can get crowded, bathroom is a bit of a walk

Where to begin, "bostonmaine" has essentially accused a Flat Top's employee of stealing.I would expect that a business that has been around for almost 15 years doesn't steal it's customers money very often if ever. This seems like a curious venue to accuse a place of theft. If he suspects an employee of it, why not contact the establishment? . Second of all, if the person at the pool desk wanted to beat him for some cash, he isn't getting very far on 2 bucks. I would guess that bostonmaine checked his credit card statement when he got home...was probably not an actual charge, just an authorization. Finally last i checked, an $8 pool tab, doesn't really fall in the "i play a lot of pool category"

Good Pool / Lousy Employees

First off, the pool here is great -- good tables, good cues. It's a good place. I'm giving it one star because the a**hole pool cashier attendant guy tacked on a two dollar tip for himself after we left -- bill was $8 and they charged my card for $10. So the lesson here is, if you're going to go to Johnny's, pay in cash. Or, like me, you could spend your dollars someplace that won't rip you off -- that $2 cost them my business, and I play a lot of pool.
